THE COMMUNITY NEST

Woven in Solidarity

Experienced, unhurried care during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum should be available to every family, regardless of economic means. This fund is how I work toward that.

MUTUAL AID

Birth by Birth

Birth is a vulnerable transition that shouldn't be navigated in isolation. The Community Nest Fund directly subsidizes professional doula care for local parents facing financial hardship.

How the Fund Works

When you contribute, your gift is held safely within my dedicated mutual aid reserve. Local families experiencing real financial hardship can submit a quiet request for support through my contact page or via email. Depending on the current depth of the nest fund, eligible families are matched with a subsidized care plan offering a 50% discount or more on my standard care options.

Please note: The Community Nest is a voluntary mutual aid fund managed directly by The Knitting Birthkeeper to increase local care accessibility. Contributions are voluntary gifts to support community members and are not tax-deductible charity donations under Dutch law. All funds are distributed based on current availability and case-by-case requests.

Can bridge a massive financial gap, co-subsidizing major care blocks like a full 10-Consultation Thread or continuous birth room presence for a family who otherwise could not afford it.

All contributions flow into one collective, community-spun fund. Below are examples of how your gift can translate into real protection for local families navigating economic hardship:
